THE COMPANY:

TELE-PLUS Management Inc. is a Calgary, Alberta based Software Development Company incorporated in 1988 to service a growing demand for integrated telecommunications management software and related software services supplied by a Canadian based company.

THE NEED:

The burden of telecommunications management has gradually shifted from the traditional Telephone Companies to the end users within an organization. As well, there are now many choices for suppliers of equipment, services and Long Distance Facilities.

THE BUSINESS MANDATE:

  • To identify, in order of priority, the most vulnerable areas of telecommunication Accounting.
  • To develop software solutions to each business problem.
  • To field test these solutions with on-site end-user prototypes.
  • To create proven quality software for end-user applications.
  • To provide prompt user service and timely enhancements.
  • To provide added value services such as custom software design, data analysis and training to maximize the customers cost benefit from the use of our products.

THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

With the initial development of the TIMS Product, TELE-PLUS Management personnel progressed through an initial stage of requirement definition and research that took approximately 16 months. After 12 months of design and programming, TELE-PLUS introduced the "Telephone Information Management System - TIMS" software solution in 1988. The completed TMS software system emerged fully field-tested in 1989. Subsequent TMS versions and upgrades have been implemented in each calendar year since Version I. The original software system has been installed and operating since 1982. TELE-PLUS Management includes with its software, a complete offering of on-site services that are essential to the successful operation of these software packages.

HARDWARE FLEXIBILITY:

TELE-PLUS Management is committed to a strategy of a hardware independent operating environment. Currently the TMS software will operate under a number of UNIX/LINUX operating systems and hardware platforms (SEE MACHINE CLASS Description). This strategy will continue to follow future open systems architecture and leading edge technology.

CUSTOMER PROFILE:

The TMS customer profile is generally an organization utilizing between 400 and 50,000 telephone sets and/or data lines. The customer is subjected to frequent moves/changes and currently owns proprietary voice/data equipment (PBX, IP-PBX or CENTREX). Our larger users utilize a multi-site network of PBX / IP-PBX's servicing a distributed departmental organization.
